September 4, 2024 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn, Tammy and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:42 pm and there were four seals seen, although initially there were no seals visible.
About 1:02 pm, R416 Makali'i hauled out on the middle of LPB. He was ID'd by his sub-adult to adult size, old coat, applied N10 bleaches, tannish green mottled male belly, no tags and then a pit scar above his LFF.
A few minutes later, weaner RT19 hauled out on the Lanikai side of LPB. He was ID'd his weaner size and shape, light male belly and two red tags.
At 1:33 pm Marilyn became aware that two more seals were on the waterfront rocks where RT19 had hauled out earlier. RT19 joined the other two seals briefly, but then went back up the beach. Marilyn believes the two seals were an Unknown Juvenile and weaner RT90 Manapua.
At 1:44 pm Marilyn saw R416 was no longer was in his initial location and a short while later he hauled out near RT19.
At 1:50 pm, the Unknown Juvenile hauled out down from 1BS: juvenile size, new coat, two red tags.
RT90 was in the water near the UJ and the latter joined RT90 in the water. They moved up and down the coast until they hauled out further Lanikai of RT19.

Tammy met up with Lesley and Michael and they went out to the point. There weren't a lot of people or seals for that matter. They did come across three seals through out the day.  The first find was RT98 snoozing on the white coral. They thought she was going to be their only seal of the day, but while they were at the point two other seals showed up.  First was PvKauai RW02 hanging out in the water. Later R330 Squinty showed up, he still has his tracker.

Team R&B got a late start today because of some appointments. They only had one find today and that
was the lovely Miss Kala RH76.  She was there at the upper "zen" area, looking very alert. She kept looking around checking out the area.
They saw a green backpack up on the rocks near her, but didn't see anybody near it. There were times when Kala's eyes were so big looking around almost looked like they were bulging out.
Then Team R&B saw some weird dude on the right jumping off the rocks. The guy asked if they had permission to be there, they replied yes. He said something else, which they couldn't make out, but he
began jumping from rock to rock. He pointed to Kala, Team R&B pretended they hadn't seen her and thanked him. Kala turned away when he was near, the dude grabbed his backpack and went away.
Team R&B did a recheck later and Kala was still there and yes she is well into her molt.
