And just like that it is September already!
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:00 to 2:30 pm and there were three seals seen during that time.
In the middle of LPB were two seals:
Juvenile Female: larger juvenile size, new coat, light gray female belly and two red tags.
R416 Makali'i: adult size, old coat, tan male belly with ventral scars and blotches, both N10 applied bleaches, pit scar in front of LFF and no tags.
Down from the 1BS was weaner RT19: weaner size and shape, light male belly two red tags.
Team R&B's first find was the lovely Miss Kala RH76. She was alone on the rocks resting.
They did a recheck at noontime and she was gone.
A recheck later in the day RH76 had returned and was high up on shore.
When Team R&B did their noontime check of the area they spotted splashing about 1/8 of a mile in the water. There were multiple seals, one had a really clean new coat with a dark face. The other was adult size, tossing its hind flippers way out of the water, no tags seen. They were not able to ID either seal, but they could see they were fighting.
While watching the seals, they were shocked as a boat flew right pass the seals, even the passengers looked back. There was also a diver way out in the waters which could have been dangerous.
On their travels they did see the dolphins out and about. They were leaping from the water, and one had a sucker fish biting at him.
Last but not least they found one more seal at the cliffs. He was on the rocks, it was the very handsome R617.
