Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:55 to 1:35 pm and there were four seals seen during that time. (Mom and pups)
About 80 feet apart between 1BS and 2BS were the following:
RL12 Aukai and her adopted pup PO3. They seem to be sticking close together and so far Marilyn has not seen PO3 try to go for a solo swim. Marilyn did observe one nursing session.
Closer to 2BS was RH76 Kala and her pup PO8. They seem to be doing fine. The pup crawled around behind mom soon after Marilyn started viewing and she did not see PO8 again until Kala started moving up the beach.
Both Masked Booby parents were with their chick during part of her viewing session.
Team R&B started their day viewing dolphins having a great time in the waves. They were super active today. While watching the dolphins they noticed there were two seals on shore at electric beach. So they left to check it out.
When they arrived it took them a bit to make an ID. Both seals were sandy, they female was ID'd as the lovely little
They headed over to Nimitz and did the walk out once again. There they found R407 Kawika resting alone. The surf was rough and getting higher.
Last stop at another west side location left them frustrated. They saw a seal foraging off the rocks in the wild surf. They were frustrated because the glare was so bad they couldn't make a positive ID and had to report the seal as an Unknown Adult.
