Marilyn a few hot spots on the windward side and did not see any seals. She viewed Rabbit Island from 11:50 to 2:00 and there were four seals on island today.
About 50 feet Makapuu side of 1BS was a S/F once again: subadult size, yellowish female belly and two red tags.
On the 3BS side of Middle Cliff on top of the waterfront rocks was a large adult female, that Marilyn believes to be RF34 Pua. She has at least one red tag, scar on the rear right side and Pua is due for an appearance on island.
A short distance Makapuu of RF34 was a seal that is reported as an Adult Male. A/M: subadult to adult size, lighter gray male belly and two red tags.
When Pua went over the front rocks and started moving in the direction of the 3BS, the A/M followed her. They had a few words and ultimately RF34 hauled out again almost directly down from the 3BS. The A/M hauled out as well.
About 40 feet Makapuu side of the 3BS mostly hidden behind the waterfront rocks was an Unknown/Unidentified. U/U: yellowish ventral but barely visible to determine size, gender or tags.
Team R&B started their day watching a very busy Kaale RH32. He was in and out of the outfall getting his fill. And today he lived up to his reputation and stole some fish from the fisher's lines, which he has been doing for years.
While in the area they checked another beach and sure enough there were two seals. Turned out to be R413 Makamae and RG28 Lefty. There were lots of people both in the water and on the beach. Thankfully signs were up and a volunteer on site.
Team R&B went and did a check of a popular tourist beach and found a big fat seal snoozing on therocks. It was Kekoa Alii RK72 who got hit by waves. He decided to relocate to onto the shore. They put up a zone and waited.
It was really hot and humid so they left the area and Kekoa remained on shore.
At another west side location they found their sweet darling Pe'ekai RP84. He was on high rock in snooze mode and snoring.
To the right of him was Miss Kala RH76 looking beautiful. She was resting peacefully.
They headed to another area and from afar they spotted a seal snoozing on shore by the towers. It was an easy ID for them dear old Benny RE74.
They watched from afar and how folks were walking right up to Benny. Benny would lift his head look up. Team R&B did not go to the site there were just too many people to deal with.
Just as they arrived at the cliffs they saw a huge seal dive down the rocks and swiftly swim away. They moved to another spot and the seal went pass and kept going until she disappeared. Studying their photos they determined it was RL42.
