03/22/2022 Tuesday's Dailies

Team R&B was talking to some friends sharing seal stories when they noticed a seal galumphing up on the rocks from afar. It was their old boy Kekoa Alii RK72, and then he hid from view.

Then they were looking towards another spot and there hauled up Lefty RG28. He settled down pretty quickly. While watching Lefty they spotted a small black dog running on the beach all the way to the seal. A barking match began between dog and seal. The little dog approached and the RG28 fought back but the dog was relentless and chased Lefty into the water. RG28 turned with one last bark and then left the area.

They hung around hoping RG28 would show up and after a while he did. He galumphed up on the rocks with Kekoa Alii. They shared some words but soon settled down.

At another west side location they spotted two seals together snoozing on the rocks. They ID'd R3CX Nalu and RL08. Shortly after another seal showed up and they were happy to see RP84 Pe'ekai. RP84 wanted to sleep next to Nalu and RL08. At first Nalu accepts him with a nuzzle, but Pe'ekai wanted to go higher and this annoyed Nalu. He whooped at the kis, who took off to the next pond to be alone.

Next stop they spot a seal sleeping on the rocks and they made their way out. Unfortunately they see a small dog who walked right up to the seal. The dog didn't bark and the owner became aware of the situation and called the dog immediately. Thankfully there was no interaction, dog left and the seal RL70 was okay.

Posse pal Amy arrived at secrets early afternoon. There were three signs posted and the seals were in the sand near the rocks close to the waterline. There were people sitting close to the seals past the signs. A couple of teens asked them nicely to move away from the seal. There were no volunteers on site, so Amy quickly got people to move back and provided some Monk Seal 101 and adjusted the signs.

Team R&B arrived and gestured to Amy to come over to them and ID'd Kekoa Alii RK72. After

ID'ing Kekoa Team R&B headed out.

At about 2:00 another seal arrived and Amy could see his applied bleach N29, it was Leflty RG28. He hauled out next to Kekoa Alii, they greeted each other and settled in for a nap. As the surf came up the boys moved higher up the beach. Amy did lots of educating, until 5:30 when Lefty took off. Then at 6:30 Kekoa Alii left as well. Amy returned the signs and ropes to the gate. Amy sent a couple of videos.

Last but not least Team R&B made a stop and there on the rocks was a big fat seal snoozing alone. It was RL42 Leia resting peacefully on her own.
