Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:05 to 1:30 and there was only one seal during her observation.
Alone on LPB was a S/F: subadult size, yellowish female belly and two tags. Marilyn did not see any markers so she ruled out RK37.
Team R&B heard that there was a seal on shore at secrets, so theyquickly headed over to find Aukai RL12. She seemed really dry so she may have spent a good part of the evening on shore.
They put out signs and called the hotline. They educated the folks on the beach while they waited.
Around 9:47 they saw a seal passing, they could see it was an adult but that was it. Could not make an ID, and the seal kept going. Volunteer arrived and Team R&B passed on information about Aukai.
Off to their next stop the first seal they spotted was none other than Kaale RH32. He was up on the rocks behaving himself.
Near by was RL08 also on the rocks. There was no interaction between them.
They spotted a seal foraging off the rocks. They were able to ID R3CU.
The next site was crowded, they saw a volunteer on site with signs up around a fat female on shore. She was surrounded by people, with kids running past, divers, snorkelers and people laying in the sand near her. Poor thing came up to rest and is surrounded by people.
Team R&B ID'd R413 Makamae from out island trying to get her rest. She was aware of the humans but stayed anyway.
People were referring to the seal as Rocky. So Team R&B tried to let the volunteer know the seal was R413 from either Niihau or Kauai.
At another west side location they spot their sweet Pe'ekai RP84 on upper rocks. Next to him was Lefty RG28 who bugged the kid a bit. Pe'ekai just stayed near him not being bothered.
Then they saw way on the mid upper rocks was Nalu R3CX.
Last stop they spot a dry seal on the rocks near the homeless camp. They ID'd RL70 Leina who they were happy to see, but wondered why she goes to this area that is always dirty.
