03/19/2022 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by posse pal Justin and Team R&B💕

Posse pal Justin T. saw 3 monk seals on Oahu in a very secluded undisclosed spot:
RG32 (male born on Molokai 2015) identified by his G33 tag, scar above his right eye, and male belly.
M26 Nohea (female born to RK96 Kaiwi on 4/6/2020) identitied by her tags M26 & M27 and female belly.
Manana (female P04 born to RL12 Aukai on Manana Island on May 13, 2021) identified by her very worn roto tag 215 on her right flipper and female belly.
Justin call NOAA that the seals seemed healthy.

Team R&B started at the outfall and spent about 20 minutes studying the area. They spotted a seal
foraging and was ID'd as R3CX Nalu. He was amazing to watch, very smooth with his moves and a gentleman by not stealing anything from the fishermen. There were times when he was vocal, not sure why and then left the outfall.
He would return later and hauled up on on to the rocks with great excitement. Team R&B couldn't understand what was going on until they made their way around and discovered Lefty RG28 and RL08. They did not stay since this is where the pack of dogs are and go after people.

At another west side location they found their beloved Pe'ekai RP84 in a spot that they refer to as the chair. He was alone snoozing and doing just fine. They searched the area and didn't see any seals.
Then suddenly there was a seal just plopped on the rocks. They were able to ID RL70 Leina. They noticed she has some kind of deep scratched on her lower back. It was difficult to get a good look, and she did not cooperate.
Then they see another seal swimming towards the area. It hauled up on the rocks and was posturing to see Leina. He came up and stayed by the inlet, when they were able to ID R3CU.

Finally they made the Ka'ena west trek with junior sealette. They only saw one seal out there. There
was RL42 Leia snoozing in a little pond. She was alone and doing fine in the heat of the day.

Team R&B ended their day by checking on the swans. They were shocked and thrilled to see three baby swans, two swimming with Mom & Dad and one that stayed behind in the nest.  Very cool!
