03/25/2022 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕.  I also want to acknowledge and send Happy Birthday wishes to Barbara!  She continues to amaze me with her endless energy to be out there every day and share her knowledge with the rest of us. Sending you lots of hugs and well wishes!!!

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 2:40 to 3:55 and there were two seals on island today.
A short distance Makapuu side of the 1BS was a S/F: subadult size, yellowish female belly and two red tags. She had a small darker pigmented spot on the left side of her neck. Shortly after Marilyn started viewing she moved behind one of the large waterfront rocks. Later she showed her upper torso on the Lanikai side of the rock.
Almost directly down from the 3BS was an A/F: large adult size, medium gray female belly, unknown tags as hide flippers were not visible. She stayed in the same position and location during Marilyn's observations.

First seal of the day was spotted in the outfall foraging. It was none other than our infamous fish thief Kaale RH32. It's been awhile since he participated in his bad behavior, lets hope he doesn't start up again.

While hanging out with Kaale and surveying the ocean for more critters they spotted a small seal hauling out at a nearby beach.
They made their way to the area and there was the Kid from Kaulapapa L7. He has no tags since he was born during covid. But he does have an applied bleach which is better. He already has a cc scar on chest area and scar on the right side of his face.

At one point they see from afar a group of  seals landing at tracks.  When they arrived there were two they immediately saw, one was L7 and the other they listed as a U/M. He had a large cc scar on his back, and a worn tag read 32.  (could be RG32)  They immediately called the hotline!
Once they could get a look at the group of; R413, Lefty, L7 and U/M having a loud interaction, they called a friend who brought some signs and sticks. Together they made a fast zone to keep all the people away.
R413 took off followed by RG28, and then they landed again. This time they were by the trees and settled in. Problem with this spot is there are a lot of dogs belonging to folks at the nearby camp.

Team R&B then decided to check out a popular and crowded beach. Sure enough there were two seals on shore with lots of people. They went got the ropes and signs and made a quick zone, advising the folks to give the seals some space. People were all good about it today.  The two seals were Kekoa Alii RK72 and Kalani RN14.

After leaving they made a stop at another west side location. There at the seal inlet lay the lovely RH76 Kala.  Nearby was their little cutie RP84 Pe'ekai.
