Team R&B started their day at a west side location and on their first visit they found two seals. There was R3CU on right side of seal inlet and RL08 near him. They were both snoozing in the warm sun.
They spotted RW02 PvKauai foraging off shore. He eventually would land at the left high rocks and stayed for the day.
Team R&B got a text from their surfer friend that there was a seal on shore. So they went to the area and found RH32 Kaale on shore. Then a second seal showed up. It was Lefty RG28 who approached Kaale, and there were lots of people around. Kaale didn't budge and stayed on shore. Lefty took off heading east.
They hadn't heard from anyone about seals at one of the busier beaches, so they went to investigate anyway. There on the rocks was RK72 Kekoa Alii. They advised people to go around the rocks and not talk to the seal, it can be disturbing, it was best to just let him rest.
Gratefully posse pal Amy would arrive and allow them to go check other sites.
Next: From afar they could see RH32 Kaale was there and now another seal, but they couldn't get an ID. The seal was reported as an U/U on their second check.
Heading back to another west side site, they were pleased to find Pe'ekai RP84 this time. He was on the rocks near R3CU and RL08 who were still there. He eventually moved higher up due to the big surf.
They made a stop at Makaha and the seal they had seen there yesterday isn't at all who they thought. When they arrived today they recognized the seal as L7 on shore alone. He seemed perfectly fine in his zone that the security folks had set up for him. There was a scar on the right side of face, no tags and a CC scar mid chest. Team R&B were told L7 was his bleach number during covid, and he was not tagged. L7 is visiting all the way from Kaulapapa.
Next they found RL98 Lina at the cliffs snoozing alone on the rocks. She never moved, so they took a quick photo and left the site.
Last find at the bay was Nalu R3CX on the rocks alone resting.
