Today's dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕.
Team R&B started their say out at the bay and had two seals. The first one was at the jetty foraging, little Mr. green RL20 Kalua. They saw RW22 Kolohe land on the sand at rest camp area, same place as yesterday. They called the hotline and waited and waited. Finally they asked the rest camp security for a couple cones, but they said no (this time). Then they asked the lifeguard, they hadn't put up any signs either. Team R&B stayed until 9:47 and gave up. They spoke to a woman who said she would keep her eye on the seal. Team R&B gave her the hotline number if she wanted to call about Kolohe.
Checking beaches they noticed a large seal on shore with people close by. They took some photos and
saw the the seal was RL42 Leia. When they got to the site the people walked away. Leia RL42 is looking grubby, probably going to molt soon. She was resting alone, tags visible and not hooks or lines seen on her.Continuing on with their check at another location they spotted Lei Ola RH48 resting on the rocks. There were waves washing over her which made he move higher up. Team R&B waited to see if another seal was around but she remained alone.
While watching Lei Ola they spot a shine, then a wiggle in the water and there was Da Benny RE74. He is in cruise mode heading towards Lei Ola. He hauled out with her being a pest, sniffing her. She reacted by tossing her hind flippers at him and he got the hint. He turned and then rested on the rocks for a few moments, then back into the water to continue on his journey.
Team R&B headed back to check on Kolohe, he was still in the same spot no signs and no volunteer on site. They spotted another seal foraging out on the bay ocean side, he was chasing fish, fast and furious. They weren't able to get a positive ID, seal was larger size, no very green and had red tags. It "could be" Kaale but reported as an UM.
At another west side location they didn't see any seals, but walked all the around to the right and there
was RN14 Kalani and RH76 Kala. They were so happy to see Kalani to check on how his eye was doing. The best they could tell his left eye is looking much better and pretty normal. It was open and he was keeping both eyes on RH76 Kala.Kala is also healing from her shark bites and looking plump and healthy. Both seals were resting comfortably, there was no interaction between them. The two wounded critters healing together.
