So our Miss Kaiwi turns 10 years old today. She certainly finished her molt in time to show off her shiny new coat.
Team R&B were out super early today and at the bay they saw two seals foraging. They were surprise that on of the seals was Benny RE74 who came close to landing. He looked around and went off to the jetty to steal fish.
Of course the other seal was RL20 Kalua who came in from around the jetty. He and Benny met up,there was a moment of interaction lots of splashing. Even the fishermen were watching. Team R&B finally got a pic of RL20 with an akule in his mouth. They saw the wakes, waves as if something big was chasing the fish. RL20 surfaced with his prize catch. One of the fishermen accidentally snagged a turtle who was struggling, Team R&B was able to see the line was around its flipper and not its mourh. Thankfully the turtle was able to free itself and get away.
By 7:30 they lost site of Benny, he was gone.
On a recheck later in the day RL20 was still foraging by the two boats.
Team R&B headed over and found two seals at tracks. There was RH32 Kaale and Aukai RL12, and a dog approached Team R&B as they were heading down the beach. The dog started to run towards them but thankfully he was leashed. The seals became aware of the dog barking.
Kaale was pestering Aukai with his signature head butt, and she would get made and whooped him. He finally lay next to her, watching her every move. Team R&B had to leave and the two of them remained onshore.
