At 6:15 this morning Team Billand went to check on Nalani RH92 and she was right back at the construction site. There was lots of coconuts, and tons of plastic in every shape and size, bottles, cups, branches, palm fronds and more "crap". RH02 Nalani just lay there. Team Billand called the hotline to report.
On their next check at 11 am they saw that RH92 was closer to the wall and just as much plastic and crap.Volunteer Melina was there talking with the construction folks, and someone from city and county.
Team Billand was on their way to an appointment at 3 pm and as they passed by the area they could see RH92 was still there with the rising tide.
Just before 7 am Team Billand spotted a seal foraging in the outfall. The seal was alone, and Team Billand was able to see a "ding" on the head and back, but they also got the tag shot to confirm RL12 Aukai. She moves very smooth, not aggressive, not stealing any one's catch. She did a few deep dives, Team Billand couldn't see what she caught but she got something.
They stayed and watched over her for about 2 hours, and also caught up with some friends they made from when Ka'ale was hanging out there.
Aukai is a big girl, with a small scar on the right side of her face, little black circles on left side, a beautiful face ( that only monk seal posse can love).
Just before noon Team Billand found RG28 Lefty at a west side spot on the rocks, basking inland due to rising tides. They can see his cookie scars, tags and is looking very peaceful today.
Then later afternoon Team Billand found the beautiful Miss Pohaku RO28. She was way up on rocks alone, looking quite green. Her right sided scars were visible, she is alert and looking fine. She should be getting around to molting in the near future.
