September 25, 2019 Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand.

Team Billand found RH92 Nalani right where she was yesterday. She was on a sand patch snoozing alone. She actually looks nice and plump, beautiful coat, tags showing. Nothing new to report, except there are 101 better places for her to be hanging out.

Team Billand's next find came when they stopped at a familiar site and initially did not see any seals. Then a nice lady pointed them in the direction of not one but two seals.
There was RN14 Kalani and RH48 Lei Ola on the rocks. Then they noticed Lei Ola had a long line coming from the left corner of her mouth.

They immediately text NOAA and called the hotline to inform everyone.  Team Billand waited to hear if NOAA could come, but they did not.  Volunteer Melina stopped by, so Team Billand informed her of the hooking.

Barbara stood in the rain from 11 to 1 watching over Lei Ola. She left the site when the tide was rising fast hitting her and she left.  Team Billand updated NOAA of her departure. And now the search begins to find her again.

Also RN14 Kalani left the site before Lei Ola.
