First in the yesterday's news department, Team Billand spotted Pohaku RO28, this is her first sighting since she weaned Nanea on August 28th.
While out on their usual daily checks they were delighted to come across her. There was a life guard at this beach making his rounds and asked if they had received a call. Team Billand said no they were just stopping by and he pointed to where the lifeguards had put up signs. There she was Pohaku snoozing her heart away in peace.
She is filling in, looking much better than the day she weaned Nanea, with her ribs showing and looking "flat". Team Billand looked her over, she is looking quite green, no new markers, perhaps getting ready to molt.
In Today's news Team Billand spent a lot of time searching for RH92, since she wasn't at KoOlina this morning. Finally after 20 days she has moved to another location, but where?
FINALLY they found her on the west side sleeping alone.
Team Billand received a call from PIFSC to see if they had found Lei Ola, and at this point they had not, but were in the process of checking.
Shortly after the call they found he sleeping alone way up in the rocks. There is line coming from the left corner of her mouth and a small hook still there. Team Billand immediately called the hotline and PIFSC. Team Billand waited and sure enough NOAA arrived checked in on Lei Ola RH48. NOAA was able to cut the thin fishing line. Typically this location is touchy in that she is on the rocks, but cutting the line was done with no disturbance to her. The small hook still remains. Hopefully she will toss the hook on her own.
