Just a word of caution for everyone in Hawaii, please pay attention to the weather and surf reports before heading out to the shores this weekend. I know they are asking people to stay off the roads on the North Shore so they remain clear in the event emergency vehicles are needed.
Team Biiland out on the westside this morning spotted two critters off shore foraging. They spend over an hour studying them and finally saw N14 Kalani's applied bleach. The other critter was ID'd at RIP RR70 by the cookie scar on his back.
When Team Billand returned in the afternoon for their last check there were three animals on lower rocks. Kaale RH32 joined Lei Ola and Kekoa. The waves were still pounding and surrounding all of them.
Lastly Team Billand stopped at another beach and not only spotted but heard two seals snoring. Looking to the left and inbetween rocks was a huge seal, snoozing and snoring. It was RL42 Leia!
The other seal was much smaller and difficult to photograph, well hidden. It was RK88 Puna, he was sleeping soundly. Then there was three and this lovely was ID'd as the infamous RJ58 Kaimana.
The waves were pounding, lots of wind and salt spray. Lets hope they all remain safe tomorrow and have fun surfing the monster waves.
