Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island today from 1:08 to 2:21 pm and there were four seals seen during that time.
Just as Marilyn was setting up the camera and spotted two seals near SRI and it appeared they were heading for the water. Marilyn only observed them for about two minutes before they were gone for the day.
RS12 Hoku: Juvenile size, N3 applied bleach and two red tags. She followed the UU into the water.
Unknown Unidentified: Seal was already heading into the water and Marilyn could not decide on its size, nor its sex or tag status.
Out on the Lanikai side of LPB was RT19 (PO8) who only showed his ventral size during Marilyn's observations.
An Adult Female started out down from the 1BS, then she moved to the back of LPB and then up near the water. Adult size, light to medium gray female belly and two red tags.
An email from posse pal Kathy O informed me that Rocky was seen at Iroquois on Saturday evening. Kathy didn't see her last night but did check this morning and Rocky RH58 had left early morning. There was a broken fishing pole by her last evening and it has been removed.
Team R&B got a text this morning of a seal hauling up at Plains. By the time they arrived the seal had left BUT hauled out by the next tower. So they stayed and checked it out. There was the lovely RH92 Nalani. Her tag, right flipper scar and scar under her belly were all visible. She looks good in her new coat, still on the thin side. She needs to fatten up after her molt.
They decided to go check on newly weaned PO10. When they got to the area they spoke to volunteer who told them Rocky left on Fridayday came back at 5 pm and nursed the pup one last time. He has been given the name IliIli meaning pebbles. While Team R&B were there the kid was in full snooze mode They noted he has a natural bleach spot on the right side of his chest.
While down at the waterfront they saw the 100 year old Italian ship anchored here before heading off to Japan.
