Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:40 to 3:00 pm and there were seven seals seen during that time. Initially when she arrived there was only one seal visible but eventually they all showed themselves.
Marilyn first saw Kala RH76 and PO8 (day 41) on waterfront rocks on the Lanikai side of LPB at 1:44 pm. Marilyn saw PO8's light belly and Kala draped over the rocks. Later Kala and PO8 moved up the beach.
She first saw RL12 Aukai and her adopted pup PO3 at 2:15 pm in thewater off LPB. Later they hauled out together on LPB and then PO3 appeared to nurse. Aukai appears to have substantial remaining reserves so this leaves the question how much longer they will stay together. PO3 is so huge he has trouble moving around on the sand.
Down from 3BS was a Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, old coat with some green, female belly and two red tags.
When Marilyn started viewing this morning the only seal she saw was the molting Adult Female: adult size, about 45% molted ventral, female belly and at least one red tag on the rocks flats next to SRI. When she rolled onto her belly and moved a short distance forward, Marilyn saw that there was seal behind her.
The initially hidden seal was RK37 Huia who finished her molt recently. Later they both moved onto the beach and you could clearly see the nb on her lower left side.
Team R&B started their day at Kahe where they saw a seal in the water. There was a snorkeler in the water that appeared to be too close and may have caused the seal to take off in a westerly direction. By the time Team R&B found the seal again, it was now by a diver still swimming west.
They waited around what seemed like forever, but it paid off. Here comes the seal. He landed in a couple of different spots but would settle. The seal was none other than RH32 Kaale.
While hanging out in the area they saw the dolphins out and about. They were further out today.
Out at the cliffs they found the lovely Miss Lei Ola RH48. She was in her water hole, cooling off and looking clean and gorgeous.
It was very windy today making it difficult to take photos. They spotted another seal who wasn't very cooperative either. After watching the seal and studying their photos they believe this critter to be RP30 Puka. They did see his cc scar and dark colored snout.
