June 11, 2024 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:25 to 2:58 pm and there were seven seals once again.
When Marilyn first arrived there were four seals:
In the middle of LPB was RL12 Aukai and her adopted pup PO3. They were near other but Marilyn did not see them interact. PO3 almost looks larger than Aukai, even though she still has some reserves.
On the 1BS side of LPB was the molting Adult Female: adult size, about 65% molted, clean female belly and two red tags. It appear that her fur is coming off in large chunks.
On the shoreline near SRI was RK37 Huia alone. She was ID'd by her new coat, gray female belly and nb on her left lower side.
At 1:48 pm, PO8 hauled out alone over the rock flats on the Lanikai side of LPB. He galumphed around and appeared to be looking for mom. He vocalized shortly before going back into the water over the rocks at  2:05 pm.
At 2:19 pm, a Sub-adult Female hauled out of the LPB surge channel and moved up the beach and ultimately over a sand berm at the back of the beach and out of sight.
Marilyn thinks this is the same SF, she has seen lately.
At 2:37 pm, RH76 Kala hauled out alone over the rocks of LPB surge channel, where her pup PO8 had come up and returned to the water previously. Kala looked up the beach, turned back to the channel and vocalized and then moved further up onto the beach onto the berm. Her N77 applied bleach was visible.
Marilyn waited to see if PO8 would join RH76, but he had not done so by the time she left. So we have to wait until tomorrow to see if PO8 is weaned. (he is 42 days old today)

Team R&B had a very short day today, they checked out a couple of beaches and ended up finding just
two seals.
There on the rocks was a large male who appears to be molting. No tags, big scar over eye, they believe this to be RG32.
The other seal was that cute male R416 Makalii. He was alone to the right resting. They also got to see the dolphins putting on a show.
Team R&B have family in town so they went out to celebrate!
