Marilyn did go to the pier on Saturday for a few minutes before the rain made it unbearable. She spotted PO3 on the beach near the 3BS. She did not see any other seals in a quick scan of the island.
Today she went to the pier from 1:45 to 3:33 pm and there were three seals seen during that time.
Near the back of LPB was an Unknown Unknown, unsure about size, sex or tags. The seal did not move during Marilyn's viewing session. This might be PO3 because she did not see him elsewhere, then again he has not previously been seen on the Lanikai side of Middle Cliff.
About 40 Makapuu side of 3BS were two seals:
Juvenile Female: juvenile size, older coat, yellowish tan female belly and two red tags.
Adult Male: adult size, darker gray male belly and at least one red tag.
Team R&B continue to have technical issues, so they are sending their reports by cell phone.
Their first find was at Nimitz. There was Mr. Kawika R407 alone on the reef.
At Kahe they spotted a seal swimming. The seal turned and hauled up on the rocks. They were able to ID the handsome RH32 Kaale.
Heading over to tracks they saw two seals hauling in. There was a female R406, she is looking thinner and smaller. The other seal was a male RN04 Kainoa staying close to her.
Last stop was at the bay where they were shocked to see Miss Kala RH76 is still out here. Very close to her was RM31 Kai keeping her company.
They also found Miss Leina RL70 snoozing in a bush. She never moved but her tag was visible to make a positive ID.
