May 13, 2024 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:30 and there were three seals seen during that time.
On the waterfront rock flats Lanikai of SRI was an Unknown Adult: adult size, two red tags, not sure of sex since Marilyn never saw a ventral view. Her guess would be this is the adult female she has seen recently but can't be sure. The UA later moved onto the beach and then up into the dunes with PO3 showing much interest.
Marilyn was a little concern when she didn't see Pua RF34 and PO3 for over an hour into her viewing session. Then finally she spotted RF34 Pua and PO3, they hauled out about 1:54 pm between 3BS and SRI and the pup had a nursing session. Pup is a porker and mom is hanging in there.
About 2:15 pm the UA moved up onto the beach and started heading up into the dunes. RF34 with her mouth open charged toward the UA. Then the UA moved up towards the dunes, PO3 started going toward the UA leaving mom behind. The UA was very aware of the pup but made no obvious move to him Ultimately the pup headed back to mom. One wonders how much longer Mom will stay with the pup.

Team R&B managed to make their way out on this crazy rainy day. There was a break in the rain and they found Miss Kala RH76 with Kai RM31. They were resting on the rocks about 20 feet apart.

Next stop at Kahe, they found Mr. Kalua RL20. He was alone today getting some rest.  The dolphins on the other hand were putting on show, they always look like their having fun.

When they arrived at Nimitz they didn't see RN14 Kalani on the reef because there were so many people out there. Team R&B walked out to the other area and saw a man and woman posing, taking pics of each other, and that's when they knew a seal must be there.  Sure enough they went over and found RN14 Kalani who was very alert and aware of the the couple.  The couple left and walked to the cabins. Team R&B confirmed RN14s ID just in time, because the rain was back and this time it was pouring. They called it a day.
