Jan 18, 2023 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn, Team T&D and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:50 to 2:15 and there was only one seal on island during her observation.
On the rock flats makai of SRI was a lone Adult Female: adult size, light gray tan female belly and two red tags. The seal appears to have a line scar on her upper chest/lower neck area and a small pit scar or dark pigment spot on her chest near her RFF. She looks healthy and plump.

Because there was only one seal, Marilyn spent time checking in on the Masked Booby who appears to be sitting on a nest (egg). There were some Brown Noddies on the waterfront rocks near the middle cliff.

Team T&D made a trip to the east side today to try their luck at whales. They actually got really lucky and came across a seal. While waiting to get an ID, they contacted Marilyn. Marilyn came by and thought it was RK24 Bruno. It took a while but he finally decided to move and made his tag visible for a positive ID.

Team R&B started their day at the outfall. They once again found a seal foraging and could not make an ID.
They had another fantastic whale day. They were out and super active.

So they walked out to secrets and were happy to see three seals snoozing. There were three males resting and a volunteer on site. The trio consisted of RK72 Kekoa Alii, R3CX Nalu, and RN14 Kalani.  There were signs up.
The volunteer did not stay, so Team R&B hung out to educate folks for a while.
They were actually told by a tourist that there were seals at PC.  So they headed over to check it out.
There on shore was Lefty RG28 with the lovely RL12 Aukai. Lefty was trying to get her attention, but she wasn't having it.  A volunteer was on site and lots of people.

At another west side location they found two seals. Puka RP30 was on high rocks. He was alone and snoozing.  They spotted Kala RH76 to the right of seal inlet.

After a long day they made one last stop at the bay. There on the rocks on the left side was RL70 Leina.  She is looking lovely and plump.
At the other end on the rocks was RL20 Kalua. He was alone and content.
