The first stop at a west side location they found RW02 PvKauai. He was alone on the rocks, resting and doing fine.
Heading over to the outfall they spotted a smaller seal foraging. After a lot of time studying the critter they ID'd RL20 Kalua. He never hauled out while they were there.
At another location close by they see there are two seals on the rocks. Both snoozing on this blustery, cold, rainy day.
They were able to ID RL08 off to the right. Then they were shocked and over joyed that the other male on the rocks was R407 Kawika. They haven't seen him in quite some time. He appears to have a new coat and is looking good.
They actually returned to the site to make sure it was in fact him.
Next they made it out to secrets since its been busy. There were three males again.
Kekoa Alii RK72 was by the naupaka bushes. Next to him was Kaale RH32, by the bushes and also the entrance way.
The third seal took them a bit longer to get the ID. He didn't move much but they eventually ID'd RG32. ( also after two visits.)
Apparently this cold, rainy day did not slow Team R&B down. They went out to another beach and on shore with an excellent zone set up was RH92 Nalani. Mahalo to the lifeguards for setting up the zone for the gorgeous and very plump Nalani.
They watched as she flipped over, and noted ever since she was a pup she would does it in the cutest way by flipping fast and plop her body down.
Her tags, scars on head, face and foreflipper were visible and she really is looking big.
Backtracking they found the last seal of the day, it was their old dear Nalu R3CX.
He was resting in a zone set up by volunteer. He was looking quite content resting after foraging the last few days. Nice he changed locations, at least here he won't be bothered by dogs and humans.
