Jan 21, 2023 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 2:20 to 3:00 and only saw one seal during her observation. She wasn't there for long due to the howling winds hitting the pier.
On eht waterline 25 feet Makapuu side of the 3BS was a Juvenile Female: juvenile to small subadult size, older coat, tannish gray female belly, not sure about tags. She appeared to have some darker patches on her mid chest area.

Team R&B went out searching and same as yesterday location they came upon Kekoa Alii RK72 and RN14 Kalani. They called the hotline to report, since there were lots of people around.
They stood by and asked folks not to go near the seals, to let them rest. Most folks listened, but there were a few they ignored them and kept on going.
Team R&B gave up and left by 11:45.

Next they headed over to PC and sure enough there was a seal on shore. The seal was at the waterline and alert. They sent a text to the hotline again. They were able to ID RG28 Lefty.
There were a lot of signs up and they didn't see a volunteer. The people on the beach were just walking into the area zoned off. Hmmmmmm
Team R&B also spotted a turtle on the rocks.  There were tourists chasing the poor turtles in the cove as usual. A father let his little child stand next to the turtle in the water. The poor kid screamed, don't know if the turtle bit her or if she was terrified!  The father was smiling and then picked her up.

Next they headed off to another site and to their delight they found a huge female seal on the rocks. They almost didn't recognize her because she's so big, they ID'd RH48 Lei Ola.  We'll have to keep an eye out for this one.
Way over to her right was another female seal.  There was RH76 Kala who was being visited by some very excited locals.

Then Team R&B spotted another smaller seal on the rocks. They were able to ID RL20 Kalua who also had his own fan club near by.

At another west side location they were happy to find two more seals.  There were two male just relaxing in the warm sun side by side.  The big boy was R3CU and the little guy was RP30 Puka.
