Jan 20. 2023 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Tammy and Team R&B💕

Tammy hiked out to the point and met up with Lesley. They had a three seal day.
On back beach there was R3CU and R604 Kiane.  Kiane looks to have some sshe has some mating scratches.  On main beach was Kai RM31.
Also they saw a Black-footed Albatross in flight. Very cool shot.

Team R&B's first stop there were no seals. They spent time
gazing out at the ocean and was thrilled to see a pod of whales. The surf were so high it made it difficult to see.  And the whales moved pass pretty quickly.
They also saw the dolphins who were having a great time swimming and jumping. Always playing.

Finally they got to another site and found two seals. Kekoa Alii RK72 was on the rocks snoozing.
R3CX Nalu was on shore, snoozing and then flipped over as if he was agitated. There were folks passing by even when asked to keep their distance.  There were signs posted but no ropes, and no volunteer on site.
They hung out and posse pal Melody was there too. They educated and shared binoculars with the people who were interested.

They left this site and headed over to PC and spotted a seal at the water line. There was a volunteer on site with signs and ropes.  Team R&B ID'd RG28 Lefty.
Folks were interested and going after the turtles. (of course no one pays attention to the signage).  One guy fed the turtles some limu, another no-no. Other times people just boxed the turtles in. They informed the volunteer, and there was a DLNR officer in the area.
While there with Lefty, a tourist pointed out a seal arrived about 30 minute ago down a bit.
They did manage to make the walk to the rocks (which can be a little tedious). It took some time but finally got closer to make an ID. And now the seal turned over so it was difficult. They took lots of photos and managed to get a tag shot.
After 45 minutes of waiting for movements. A group of people came by from secrets, they asked if they saw two seals. One of them replied no there was just one.
So between seeing the "3" on the tag its looks like Nalu relocated.
