10/22/2022 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:20 to 1:55 and there was only one seal during that time.
On LPB was RK24 Wawamalu/Bruno: subadult size, newer coat, light gray male belly, two red tags, and a right side scar about 1/3 forward of the rear flippers.
At 12:55, Marilyn realized he had left LPB. Marilyn thinks at 1:12 it was RK24 hauled out at the channel of RRB.

Before Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island she spent about an hour between 9:35 - 10:35 monitoring spitting
cave. At 9:40 she became aware of a seal near big rock. She almost lost sight of him in the wave surge. Then she watched it doing 6-7 minute dives for the next hour. Marilyn is reporting the seal as and unknown-unknown UU: larger juvenile to subadult size, a scar over and above the right eye, two small line scars in the mid-dorsal area and some other line scars on the left rear area, possibly two red tags.

Very early morning Team R&B arrived at a west side location and found RG32. He was on lower rocks alone just resting. When they returned later he was gone.

Next stop at the bay they found RL20 Kalua. He was on the rocks alone. They were able to get a good look at him today and determined he is 50% molted. They also looked at his mouth and there are no hooks or line.

Before their Ka'ena West trek they took a chance and made a stop. There was Nalu R3CX on shore and very alert. There were some kids that passed by him, talking to him, Nalu just kept his eye on them.
By the way Team R&B saw zero seals on their Ka'ena west trek.

Lastly they found RH76 Kala, who was away from her usual spot. She is looking healthy and quite beautiful.  They saw what they thought was salt spray but turned out to be some naked dude burning a book.  (Oh the things they see). They quietly moved away and checked once again on Kala. She was just fine snoozing peacefully.
