Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:45 to 2:30 and there were two seals during her observation.
Near SRI were two seals:
Unknown Subadult U/S: subadult size, newer coat, medium gray belly and two red tags. The full ventral side was briefly visible when it rolled over but Marilyn could not determine its sex.
Subadult Male S/M: subadult size, newer coat, light gray male belly and two red tags.
The two had a brief interaction, but then went back to snooze mode.
Team R&B started their day once again in the company of Miss Kala RH76. There was a gentleman watching her and when they spoke to him, he was one of the surfers they met. He was very understanding. Meantime Kala was looking beautiful in the morning sun.
At the same location they spotted another seal way out on the edge of the rocks snoozing and getting his by the waves. They were able to ID RG32, a seven year old male.
Later he moved up on the rocks, the scars on his face were visible. Its nice to have to have him back on the west side, he's a very cool dude.
Team R&B got a call from a friend at Tracks, there was a seal passing heading for KoOlina. They headed over and watched what seemed like forever. Finally they spotted a seal, a very green, adult male. It was only after they looked at their photos did they realize it was RN14 Kalani. He turned and headed out towards KoOlina.
When they arrived to the area there were two seals. One green and one with a new coat. The clean seal is Aukai RL12 and the green seal was once again RN14 Kalani. A volunteer was on site.
Team R&B's last seal of the day was a challenge. It took them forever to find the seal so well hidden in the rocks. They walked all the way over to the side to get a better view. There was a young male, just molted, scar on chest. It was RM31 Kai. Overall Team R&B had a very good seal day.
Melody missed Rocky crashing the party but went out there this morning. She spent some time with her while she was snoozing on the beach. At one point she got in the water but then came out and went up the sand. She snoozed for a while and then repeated her actions by going into the water and then back on shore, she seemed very restless. About lunchtime she swam out and looked like she was heading in the Waikiki direction. She had lots of visitors today.
