Their day started at the bay where once again they found Kala RH76. She was hidden in the rocks and resting peacefully.
They also spotted University of Hawaii research boat. It was following dolphins for their study.
Next while looking for seals they spotted a green male at tracks so they hurried over to find Lefty RG28. This was their first sighting of him
They left to check KoOlina where they waited for a critter to show up. They had received a text earlier there was a seal in the area. They waited until 10:30 and no seal, seems it had been there earlier and then left.
They returned to check on Lefty but he was gone, but they did find him in another area. He was on the rocks resting. Team R&B called the hotline.
Heading off to Makaha they found Nalu R3CX. They were surprised to see that he is already half done with his molt. Nalu was snoozing and seems to be just fine.
They spotted another seal on shore just resting. Beautiful new coat and looked like it just hauled in. They did not see any tags, but a cc scar on left for flipper. This is most likely RL98 Lina looking quite pretty.
Before they headed out to Ka'ena west they made a stop and spotted RM31 Kai. He is molting and they were surprised his face is clean on the right side, and flippers. They did not get a look at his belly.
As a added treat they saw six Frigate birds in the air.
They did the Ka'ena west trek again and today was a good day. They had three seals!
Weaner RQ24 Mauna, RP30 Puka and RO40 Kaena. Apparently Kaena decided to take a break from the north side.
