01/17/2022 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn, Lesley and Team R&B💕.  Lesley's Weekly Ka'ena Update is part two of the dailies.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:45 to 3:00 and there were three seals today. Unfortunately she had some technical difficulties with her SD card so there are no photos today.
Between 1BS and 2BS was a Juvenile Female, that could be the same J/F as yesterday. Larger juvenile size, light female belly and 2 tags.
Near the 3BS were two critters:
RK37 Huia: subadult size, mottled light yellowish-gray belly, two tags, nb on lower left side.
Not far from Huia and occasionally interacting with her was another Subadult Female: subadult size, yellowish female belly with a darker pigment spot on the left lower neck area, and two tags. This is most likely the same S/F as yesterday.

Team R&B has a busy day today. Their first find this morning twas the handsome dude Kawika R407. He was high up on shore.

At another West Side location they found R3CU on high mid rocks. He was alone snoozing and his markers were visible including tags. ( big sharkbite scar)
Kekoa Alii was on lower rocks also snoozing on the rocks.
Team R&B spotted a little seal off shore foraging doing 6 minute dives. At first they thought it was a turtle because it was so small. They lost sight of the little one.
Melina arrived and yelled out to them he's here over here. It was RP84 who landsed on the rocks to the left. He is just a little cutie pie. They noticed on his left flipper one of the digits is white.

At another site they were delighted to see a little guy on shore. There was little RM31 Kai , one of the 2020 kids. Melina was there asking the folks to go around away from the seal. There were lots of people out and about today.

Team R&B went off to check another area and found a seal on the rocks. They went out to the area very cautiously because of all the unleashed dogs in the area. There was RN14 Kalani looking comfortable during his rest.
Then they went off to check out to see if RH32 was still around from yesterday. And sure enough RH32 Kaale was on the rocks in the right side corner and he looks huge. The tourist were in the water near him taking photos. They tried to tell the folks to give the seal some space while it was resting. Some listened and others well they wanted their social media money shot.
Team R&B didn't put up signs as they were not able to stay on site. They made a few calls and later heard posse pal Amy went down. Very much appreciated.
