01/13/2022 Thursday's Dailies (the real Thursday)

I made a mistake yesterday thinking it was Thursday, it was not. So today, Thursdays dailies are brought to you by Melody and Team R&B💕.

Team R&B had an appointment today so they started out really early and went to one site and waited to see if any seals were around. No seals but they did see a crab.
They left and did a recheck after their appointment. They found RN14 Kalani on shore and posse pal Melody was there keeping an eye on him.

Onto other sites they spotted a seal with people around it. They made their way over to find Miss RL12 Aukai.  Thankfully Melina was out at the beach and asked folks to move back, then she asked again. Such a shame that people just think of themselves and not nature.  Team R&B did not stay long.

Last stop for Team R&B at another west side location they spotted a seal snoozing in the water hole. It was RG28 Lefty enjoying his claim to the water hole.
To the right way up on the rocks was another seal. They ID'd the lovely Miss Kala RH76. She was snoozing alone and really looking fat.

Melody sent an email about her day with Kalani RN14. She headed out early to help out since its been so busy with multiple seals and people. Initially there weren't any seal but lots of people looking for seals. Most had lots of questions, so Melody took the opportunity to educate them with monk seal 101.
After about two hours, she heard a snort and looked up and sure enough there was a big seal hauling out. He took his time scoping the area, and at first it looked like he might leave but he finally came up on the sand. Once he got settled Melody checked in with Team R&B and determined it was RN14 Kalani.  She got the rope and signs and set up a zone. People were still coming down and happy to see him.  Kalani spent a lot of time snoozing but would occasionally scope out the water as if expecting his buddies to show up.  At 4:30 posse pal Amy came by to help out until sunset and Melody headed home.
