Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:20 to 2:00 and there were two seals on island today.
When Marilyn started viewing the island there was a small seal between the 1BS and 2BS. This appears to be the little seal that was bleached yesterday with N2. Marilyn could see the N and two bleach lines in front of his rear flippers.
The only other seal was behind the waterfront rocks near 3BS. This seal was reported as an unknown unidentified (U/U). The seal did not change location or show any thing to work with during her viewing session.
Team R&B started their day by going to one of the more populated beached. When they arrived theysaw people taking photos near the seal. They hurried over to get them to move back. There was RH32 Kaale alone snoozing. They put the signs up and did some fast talking.
Not long after a man saw a seal swimming in and called out " Oh another seal out there".
Team R&B looked and waited and then spotted RK72 Kekoa Alii coming in fast and furious. He landed on shore sniffed the air and then galumphed up to Kaale. Kaale woke up, the two greeted each other and both went into snooze mode.
Next stop they were watching the surf and whales, when a seal swimming along the shore popped up, looking for a clearing to haul out. By the time they got closer to the area, R407 Kawika was hauling up. Unfortunately they had technical difficulties with their camera.
At another west side location, today making day eight that little Pe'ekai RP84/85 was seen snoozing. He was well hidden in the rocks, thankfully his light belly made it easier to spot him. (and thankfully their camera was working.
While at the site they watched the whales off shore. They found RW02 on the rocks, RL70 Leina below and RH76 Kala more inland.
Last find at a different location they spotted a seal sleeping in the rocks. It was late in the day and the glare made it difficult. All they could see was a large/fat adult. They took lots of picture hoping for a clue, but the seal is being reported as an U/U.
