Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and some news from NOAA.
Word came today that N5 got her bling today. Her official tags are M90 and M91. Truth be told we don't know for sure if she is one of the Rabbit Island critters (PO5) or if she is a weaner from somewhere else. Seems a few of our 2020 pups will be a mystery.
Team Billand arrived at the outfall and spotted two seals, one was Ka'ale RH32 and the other was reported as an UU. Ka'ale stole two fish while there were there, and thankfully the fisherman was good natured about it. Team Billand headed out and the two critters were still going at it in the outfall.
While on the road they noticed two seals hauling up at a westside beach. They drove in and when they
arrived they found Aukai RL12 up first, followed by Kaale RH32. There was a family close by swimming. Team Billand called the hotline. Watching over them a couple of tourist walked right by the two seals seemingly clueless the seals were there. They walked by and then back again, Barbara tried to warn them, but they didn't understand Well Aukai and Kaale woke up flip flopping, startled the tourist. Both seals left the site, so Team Billand took off as well.In between checking on Aukai Team Billand checked another west side location and found Kekoa Alii RK72. He was on lower rocks resting. R3CX Nalu was to the right, near seal inlet snoozing. There was no movement just sleep. HE is fat and healthy, after all that foraging at the bay.
This afternoon they headed over to the bay and RL20 Kalua on the rocks alone having a nice snooze. There were no other seals seen on ocean side, so they just spent their time watching the dolphins. About 15 minutes later RN44 hauled in on the rocks. He landed checked out who was there then went up to RL20. There was no interaction just went to sleep. Seems all the others found somewhere else to go, maybe the food source went away.
Little Miss N5 now donned with M90/M91 tags
