11/16/2020 Monday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and Melody.

Team Billand arrived at the bay and saw three seals playing/fighting ocean side of jetty. Then something caught their attention, there was a seal thrashing about to the left. It was none other than Ka'ale chowing down on an eel! It took him over 30 minutes to eat it and for all to watch.  On their next visit Ka'ale had hauled out with Lei Ola and Kalua.

Kalua RL20 was playing/fighting in the water for a while and then

landed on the rocks. There were dolphins jumping in the background.  R3CX Nalu was foraging, playing with Lei Ola and RL20 Kalua. Later he would land on right rocks alone. They checked and still do not see any line from his mouth.

Team Billand spotted RN44 foraging a far, a boat came by and then took off for a while. It was difficult to get decent photo of him. He never landed on their watch. They saw the gull who kept going for the fishermen's lure. He actually picked it out of the water and flew with it a bit. The gull certainly presented the fishermen with a challenge.

Lei Ola, RL20 Kaulua and Ka'ale were all resting on the rocks. Team Billand did spot a young seal U/U playing with the older critters, they were unable to get an ID.

At 10 am Team Billand arrived at another west side beach and spotted Lefty RG28 on the rocks, snoozing alone peacefully. Kekoa Alii RK72 was on lower rocks.

In the afternoon Team Billand Aukai RL12 at another west side location. She is looking huge, sleeping high up on shore.

The highlight of the day was finding Rocky RH58. She was high up on shore snoozing then moved to

the waters edge for a bit. After cooling off she returned to higher ground. She looks great, good weight and a bran new coat.

On the same note, Melody had got word that Rocky was in the neighborhood. Melody noted she is looking very sleek and beautiful in her new coat.  When Melody arrived Team Billand was on site and the beach was getting really busy. Team Billand had to leave so Melody stayed on until sunset. Who knows she may hunker down for the night, before Melody left she readjusted the signs and called the hotline.
