January 4, 2024 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:40 to 2:10 and there was only one seal seen during that time.
For the first 50 minutes of viewing there were no seals at all. At 1:30 Marilyn saw that a seal had hauled out between 3BS and SRI. It soon moved up into the dunes where it went to sleep. The seal is labeled as an Unknown Sub-Adult: sub-adult size, newer coat, two red tags; never saw the belly so the sex was undetermined.
Marilyn spent some of her time watching birds. A pair of Masked Boobies were seen on the outer rim of Rabbit Island crater. She also watched a number of Red-Tailed Tropic Birds soaring about the island.

Team R&B checked out a few spots and finally at one of the west side locations they waited and were
rewarded. RM31 Kai popped out at seal inlet. He galumphed up and stayed right there, even with the waves hitting him.
Next they saw another seal plopping, flopping on the rocks at the waterfront rocks. It was R416 getting knocked off the rocks. He swam over to the small pond and up and over to the next spot. He was safer there and able to get some rest and dry off.  He has no tags, split hind flipper, male belly with big scar.

No matter which site they arrived to they were treated to whales. The whales were putting on a show, unfortunately Team R&B didn't capture any of them breaching.
