Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:25 to 1:40 and there were two seals seen during that time.
Out on the rock flats Lanikai side of LPB was an Adult Male: adult size, very light male belly, unsure about tags, even with a flipper flex.
Between 3BS and SRI was a Sub-adult Male: sub-adult size, light tan male belly and two red tags.
Team R&B started their day by finding Miss Kala RH76. She wasalone on the rocks at her "zen garden". She is looking good and healthy. The waves were super high covering most of the area, but Kala found a good spot to settle down. Her N77 applied bleach showing nice and clear.
They got a call from a friend of a male seal on shore at plains. They headed over and were surprised to see RN14 Kalani. The lifeguards made a good zone for him to rest in. It appears he has started his molt around his neck area. The lifeguards mentioned they saw another seal earlier heading west. They looked around and did find a seal.
The other seal was on the reef settled in alone. It was R407 Kawika. He left the rocks due to the surf but landed again further in on the reef.
An unleashed dog came by, must have caught the scent of the seal and became curious. The dog headed towards the seal and the owners kept calling the dog. The dog continued getting closer to the rocks, until the owner ran down and pulled the dog away. Finally they leashed the pooch and all was safe.
Lastly they went back to check on Miss Kala. She was still there resting, only now she had company. They were happy to find RM31 Kai.
