January 19, 2024 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn, Tammy and Team R&B💕 It was a busy seal day today so I will do my best to keep the information concise.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:15 to 1:45 and there was only one seal on island during that time.

On LPB was RK24 Bruno/Wawamalu: adult size, light male belly, scar on right side about 1/3 forward from rear flippers, scar on lower lip.

Tammy went out to Ka'ena Point with Tracy and Lesley today. They saw nine seals and four of them got

bleached.

RN04 Kainoa has a N4 bleach

R330 Squinty was on the rocks and unable to get bleached.

( 2 seals were seen playing in the water but no IDs)

R416 Makali'i got a N10 bleach

A seal received N11 bleach, but they couldn't ID at the time. Hopefully once back in the office Tracy and or Lesley will be able to make a positive ID.

TA68 arrived and had words with R330, and then both settled down.

On their way back they came across RN58 Luana.

Lastly they found RL08 formerly known as Bam Bam Square Pants, he got a N18 bleach.

Out on the west side Team R&B met up with Mark from NOAA. They found four seals at their first stop:

RM31 Kai got a N9 bleach

RH32 Kaale got N7 bleach

RH76 Kala got N77 bleach

Lastly there was Lei Ola RH48 alone way up on the rocks, she didn't get her bleach.

While they were busy with these seals, RG28 Lefty was off shore foraging the entire time.

There was a U/U who came speeding by, Team R&B was only able to get a single shot as it passed.

Team R&B's next stop they found a very fat RL42 Leia. She was alone resting looking beautiful.

Last stop, they went looking for RL28. It took them some time to find her, but finally they saw a flipper flex from afar. Then of course there were a couple of people who went over to get photos. Team R&B hurried over and was able to ID RL28 by her cc scar on right flipper. She flipped over in response to the people being loud, but it did give Team R&B a chance to see her belly.
