07/22/2022 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn, Melody, Tammy and Team R&B💕

I met up with Tammy today to see Rocky and PO8 today. While there we saw Melody, Dianna and Gamma Gayle. That's the nice thing about pupping sites, you often bump into people you know!
Kaiwi was on site and Gayle had spent most of her time with her, since 99% of the people were more interested in the pup. Tammy and I are kind of guilty, when we finally went to walk over Kaiwi was leaving.  Seeing her from a distance she really looks good with her new coat.
Rocky and PO8 had just come in from a swim, the kid ate and went into snooze mode.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:30 to 3:30 and there were four seals on island today.
In the back Lanikai side of LPB was weaner PO7 Mahina partially hidden behind the rocks.
Closer to the waterfront on the Lanikai side of LPB in a depression was weaner RQ76 Malama. She made a few flipper flexes just enough to let Marilyn know she was there.
There wasn't much activity from either weaner today.

Between Middle Cliff and 3BS was the molding Adult Female who has been in that location for most of the past week. Her molt is about 70% with most of her ventral molted and close to half of her dorsal side molted.

Out on the rock flats between SRI and RRB was RK37 based on Marilyn best estimation. Subadult female, two red tags, newly molted. RK27 did not show her left side so her NB was not visible.

Team R&B arrived at a west side site and there were people in the
water. On shore was one woman sitting in a chair and a seal hauling out in front of her.  It was RP84 Pe'ekai, so Team R&B went into education and outreach mode. Most people were respectable, the others eh!  They made a stick zone and then a boy went over and removed the sticks.  I am sure this was beyond frustrating.

Next stop they found a lovely fully molted female. Leia RL42 was alone on the rocks.

Off to the next location, there were signs up at the Honolulu end of Zablans with lots and lots of people.
Two seals were there on shore, RG28 Lefty id'd by cookie scars and bleached left flipper.  He was in the company of a female that they just couldn't ID. She was an adult good weight, green, She had scars under belly by nipple. Head scars, one between eyes and other above left eye. No tags. Her right eye was opaque in color, milky white. She seemed okay, healthy.  They got lots of pictures of her, so hopefully someone at NOAA will recognize her.
