Melody sent some photos of Mama Rocky and PO8 interactions. I actually made a quick stop at the site today to show some from friends visiting from the mainland what a Hawaiian Monk Seal looks like.
I had a chance to catch up with Melody and watch Rocky & PO8 in the shallows by a wall. It almost looked like Rocky was showing the kid this is how you don't get slammed against the wall in the waves.
Very early morning Team R&B spotted a seal passing. The seal was foraging and then they lost site of the seal. They figured out it was RL08.
They returned to the site a little bit later and found RL08 hauled up on the rocks.
On their third visit to the site there was another seal hauling up on the rocks very slowly. It was RL20 Kalua who cautiously approached RL08. The two of them settled in and went into snooze mode.
In their travels searching for seals they were once again treated to a pod of dolphins putting on a show.
At another west side location they found RP30 Puka on lower rocks alone.
To the right they spotted a seal rolling in shallow pond who was RN14 Kalani. He would enter the water, make his way around the rocks and hauled up with RP30. RN14 sniffed out RP30, didn't do anything and didn't stay. Seems he wasn't interested with hanging out with the kid.
