In yesterdays news Team T&D hiked Ka'ena Point and had a four seal day.
They first found Ka'ena RO40 and Lina RL98 sharing a beach together.
Next was the very large BG R303. Nice to see her around again, its been a while.
Last seal was PVKauai RW02.
They looked for Mauna RQ24 but they did not see him. Seems the kid is being a typical weaner off exploring.
Photographer and posse pal Leighton Lum got to spend some time with Rocky and PO8 today. He captured some great shots of the pup. Some of them actually show his mouth wide open, still no teeth.
Team R&B headed out by Kahe Point when they saw a seal charging towards the west. It looked like Kaale, but they lost sight of it. About an hour later, Kaale RH32 was seen coming back. He landed on the rocks, cautiously looking around. He finally settled in.
They spotted another seal foraging. It was RL08 foraging off the rocks area. The little guy never hauled out.
Then from afar they saw a green seal haul up on the rocks. They checked and Kaale was there still asleep. The seal hauling in was RL20 Kalua. Kaale woke up and galumphed over to visit. He gave him a head butt and Kalua moved away fast. Then Kaale left going in a westerly direction.
Later on, two guys went down to visit RL20. Kalua was aware and not happy with their presence. One guy walked over and splashedwater at Kalua who then whooped at him. His friend managed to get a picture, then the guy who splashed Kaale starting clapping at him. Team R&B yelled out "Hey stop! That's an endangered specie. Stand back 50 feet." They moved, walked to another spot on the rocks. (this makes me so mad!)
At another west side location they spotted a little green seal. The cutie was RP30 Puka laying on his side on the rocks. The waves were coming in so he moved up higher on the rocks. He's getting really green, wonder if he will molt soon.
