Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 3:40 to 4:35 and there were four seal during that time.
Alone on LPB was an U/S unknown subadult size, appeared to have a lighter ventral area, but didn't see enough to determine gender and could not tell if there were tags.
The other three seals were in a loose group about 50-60 feet Lanikai side of 3BS:
A/F: adult size, two red tags, yellowish female belly and no NB.
S/M: subadult size, two red tags, tan male belly.
U/J: juvenile size, tan belly (unsure of gender) and at least one red tag.

Team R&B started their day finding RG28 Lefty again. He was alone and on shore. There were signs already up. A man went up next to Lefty, which shows people don't care about signs, he just went past and got his photo of Lefty.  Once the guy saw Team R&B were watching, he left the area.
The beach was crowded, they counted over 70 visitors at this spot, and thankfully they were respectful. The hotline was called. After most people left and the crowd thinned out they left.

At another west side location they spotted a seal in the pond. It was R3CU rolling around, and then galumphed as if he was ready to leave. Thankfully they got the ID and then R3CU left.

Next they had seen a seal from a far, just resting on the rocks. When they got closer to the area the seal had moved into the pond. They saw something sticking out of the side of its mouth.  They ID'd the seal RL20 Kalua. They could see a wad of fishing line, and looked carefully for a hook. They could not see a hook just the fishing line. It does appear the line was pulled and cut short. They called the "authorities" and sent photos.  Unfortunately RL20 did not stick around, he left and they never saw him again.

Team R&B and junior sealette made the Ka'ena West hike out, and today was a great day weather wise,
nice and cool.  They only found one seal, a very fat female. It was RL42 Leia who was basking in the sun on the rocks. There were waves hitting her but she "No Care"

After their trek they spotted a seal from afar, and the beach was packed. They almost didn't go but junior sealette and senior sealette decided it was a go!  So one last stop before it was time to go home.
There was the one and only Benny RE74 on shore!  They hung out for a bit to watch and sure enought a lady walked right in front of him. Thankfully Benny didn't wake up and Team R&B were done for the day. Its a good thing they decided to make that last stop!

04/29/2022 Friday's Daily

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 10:50 to 12:35 and there were two seals on island today.
When Marilyn first arrived and setting up she saw a seal on the waterfront rocks between 3BS and SRI getting ready to enter the water. By the time she had the camera ready she only got a couple of photos before it entered the water. Marilyn thinks this is the same A/M that hauled out later.
About 11 am she became aware of a seal moving along in front of the waterfront rocks near the 3BS. This seal is labeled S/M subadult male.
S/M: subadult size, lighter yellowish male belly and at least one red tag on RRF.
A/M: adult size, gray male belly and at least one tag on its RRF.
There was some brief interactions between the two before they both entered the water at about 12:05.
Marilyn stayed for another half hour but there were no other seals.

Team R&B started their day at the bay searching for critters and initially didn't see any. Then they happen to notice movement on the left and sure enough there was a seal. It turned out to be big boy R3CX Nalu. He is looking great, no bleeding seen. He still looks like he's going to molt on his side.
And as luck would have it there was another seal to the right, flip flopping in the rocks, there was little RM31 Kai. He seems to have all kind of lumps and scratches on his body. Maybe jelly fish?? who knows?

Team R&B got a call from a friend of a seal on the rocks by the bushes and there were lots of people in the area. They called the hotline.
When they got to the area, Team R&B saw people up close taking photos, the seal left the rocks and entered the water. They were able to ID RG28 Lefty. They watched him go to the reef, check it out and then moved on.
One of the folks that knew Team R&B help out with the seal told them there was another seal at another spot. So they ran over to find no seal on shore, but there was a very fat male on the rocks.  There was RH32 Kaale in a spot they had never seen him before. They informed the hotline and left for an appointment.

At another west side location there was Pe'ekai RP84 on lower rocks. He is a real cutie, doing just fine.
He moved higher up due to the rising surf.
Then they spotted two seal galumphing up to the right of seal inlet. One was Lefty RG28 and he was chasing after RH76 Kala. She wasn't happy with his advances, swatted him hard with her hind flippers. At one point it looked like a round house kick. He just kept after her until she moved away. He followed her and rolled on his side as she whooped at him.  Good job Kala.

04/28/2022 Thursday's Daily

Todays dailies are brought to you by Tammy and Team R&B💕.

Tammy met up with Lesley and they hiked to the point. They had a fantastic 9 seal day!  They also were entertained by a lot of whale activity. A couple of whales doing multiple fluke slaps, even a mom and young calf.
Their first stop was to say good morning to Luana and PO5, who were having a swim session.
Next was a surprise, in that neither Tammy or Lesley had ever seen a seal in this spot. The seal exploring new spots was RL98 Lina.
Another find was a big seal and it was none other than BG303.
Then they found two seals near each other. There was ole' Ka'ena RO40 and Kami RL74.
PvKauai RW02 was next on the list.  Then initially they didn't see the next seal because she was well hidden. Once they spotted her it was an easy because of all her scars. R604 Kiane.
On their way back they found Squinty R330.  Of course they had to make sure they made another stop to say goodnight to Luana * Mauna

Team R&B started their morning finding one seal on the rocks. They ID'd Lefty RG28, and noticed he started to get fidgety, and they couldn't figure out why.  Then they saw a dog on the rocks walking around and sniffing the area.  Suddenly Lefty started to galumph away from his spot, leaned over the side of the rocks. That was it he went into the water and took off.
They watched closely and RG28 went around the area to the other side, and hauled out. But then he left and they never saw him for the rest of the day.

At another west side location there was their little dude, who had the whole place to himself. . Pe'ekai RP84 was snoozing on high rocks.
They got to see lots of dolphins out today. They were all around and then the people came and started following them.

At their last stop they found a seal resting in the sun on the rocks. At first they couldn't tell who this way and thankfully she showed her tags. It was RL70 Leina.
Before calling it a day they noticed from afar two large honus on shore. It was a beautiful sunny day being enjoyed by all.
