09/25/2021 Saturday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Lesley, Marilyn and Team R&B💕  Lesley's Ka'ena update is part two of the dailies.

Marilyn did Ka'ena point with Lesley in the morning and viewed Rabbit Island between 3:30 to 4:10. She saw four seals on island, and the eight seals at Ka'ena point Marilyn had an twelve seal day!
Out on the rock flats on the Lanikai side of LPB together were two seals. UU#1, subadult to adult size, did not see belly or if there were tags. UU#2 another subadult to adult size, and again no view of belly or tags.
On LPB near 1BS was UJ#1, juvenile size, (probably a 2 year old) two tags, and unknown sex.
Directly down from the 3BS was UJ#2, juvenile size (probably a 1 year old), at least one tag, not sure about sex, Marilyn thinks maybe female.

Team R&B went to the outfall and spotted three seals foraging and fighting in the outfall.  One seal an unknown male had a hook and lure on his back. The unknown had a nice coat and pretty clean of any marks.
Benny RE74 was one of the foraging seals along with RG28 Lefty. Team R&B later found Lefty RG28 hauled out at tracks.

Team R&B went and checked on Nalu R3CX. He was still on shore molt is about 25% complete. He was alone and chilling.

At another west side beach they found RL42 Leia was snoozing on shore near the rocks. She was alone as far as any other critters. There were lots of folks on the beach passing her by.

Team R&B along with junior sealette made the Ka'ena west trek. They spotted a very little green male. They ID'd RM31 looking quite charming.

After a very long day they made one last stop at the bay. They found the little green goblin RL20 Kalua snoozing on the rocks.
