Today's dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕.
When Team R&B arrived at the bay they were happy to see there were no boats with fishers crowding the bay. There were a couple of fishers on the jetty as usual. Of course their resident seal RL20 Kalua was there, and doing his best to fill his belly without any interference. They rechecked later in the afternoon and he was still foraging and there were no boats in the bay.
At another west side location they spotted a green seal on high rocks. They weren't sure who it could be at first though maybe Kekoa, but much to their surprise and happiness it was Benny RE74. All he had to do was lift his head and they knew it was their boy.
Next stop for Team R&B they saw two seal on shore at tracks. There was Kaale RH32 the green seal and RL12 Aukai in her pretty new coat. All was good, then the tourist came and it got annoying. They did advise a group, and they seem respectful, but then they just walked up to the seal for a group shot. Next was a couple from Argentina, they walked up to Kaale for a close up. Team R&B asked them to step back and the husband went on about how there are thousands of them in Argentina. Team R&B had to explain these are Hawaiian monk seals, only live here and are endangered. That didn't slow him down he went on and on. After a while Team R&B finally got through to him. ( bless them and their patience)
As they were getting ready to leave they noticed a snorkeler who was yelling at the people to get out of the way a seal is coming. One lady tried to get out as fast as she could and the seal RN14 Kalani made is way over to Aukai. Kalani and Kaale got into it posturing for Aukai. Kaale didn't put up that much of a fight, and gave in to RN14. Kaale moved to the right and up shore. Finally the seals settled and the tourist were behaving.
Last stop they saw a seal basking upside down on its back. Totally relaxed, undisturbed and looking healthy. They ID'd RL42 Leia all by herself resting quite peacefully.
