Today's dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕.
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from noon to 2 pm, there were four seal on island today.
On LPB not far from the 1BS were two seals: UF; adult size, newer coat, light female belly and two tags. UM: subadult size, new coat, light male belly and two tags. These two are probably the same two that were on LPB yesterday, but the male did appear a little smaller.
Near the 3BS was what Marilyn believes to be P04 Manana: weaner size, light female belly and a sing
tag on RRF. She was gone when Marilyn scanned the island at 12:45 and did not return. It was good to see her since it's been a bit.Near SRI was a UJ possible the same one that has been in the area for several weeks. The change today is that the juvenile has started its molt, which looks to be about 20%. Juvenile size, old coat with a fair amount of green, molting on the upper ventral size. Marilyn isn't sure but thinks its a female.
Team R&B arrived at the bay and one of the fisher told them he saw a seal by the jetty. They studied for a bit and sure enough there was RL20 Kalua busy foraging. RL20 stayed way out by the jetty along with seven dinghies and a good number of fishers on the jetty. During their time there its the first time they didn't see him stealing fish.
At another west side location they spotted a seal sleeping on the rocks, The seal barely moved, and they're pretty sure the seal is Nalu R3CX. He finally moved away from this location to another spot.
Team R&B got a text from a friend who was at tracks letting them know there were two seals on shore. They hurried over and found RN14 Kalani with RL12 Aukai. There were signs up, which was great that someone made an effort. The campers were up at the area, their kids were surfing by the seals.
They headed back to the bay to check on RL20 Kalua. While watching they suddenly noticed another seal foraging with him. They tried to get an ID, but it was just too difficult with all the activity in the area. The UA had a green coat, lighter than RL20s, red tags, but they just couldn't make the call.
