After checking all the beaches here in front we headed towards the point doing the same.
Our 1st find was R353 (F) her belly is so light we could see her from far in one of the Runway tide pools. Her black scar on bottom lip and line scar on chest were visible.
- RW02 “PVKauai” on D9m at 90% - with one small patch left on his lower back. While we were observing, he glided down the beach entered the water and swam around to the Main Pool where he settle in the little cove on the right side.
- RO40 “Ka’ena”, that made his way gliding down towards the waterline. He finally turned on his side showing us his belly and chest. Moving a bit from the position I was in to eliminate the glare on him, there on his chest the first star crack of his molt was visible. So today is D1m with still NO percentage
Down on the waterline as well described by Marilyn, laying in a very uncomfortable position (for us humans), was RL12 “Aukai”. I had described her earlier to Marilyn and she agreed the girl is very big.
On our way back here, we spotted from far a seal down at CE Pt. We went down and found RN58 “Luana” from there looking towards the house was another seal right in front of the property access. It was RR70 “RIP” charming in his new coat.
A couple of yards further towards Birth Beach was another seal sleeping peacefully: RG40 “Holokai”
Not surprised to see him, since his pal for the last couple of weeks: RK36 “Kauai Kolohe” was at the Point on Saturday.
I did one last check in the afternoon “Luana” and “RIP” were in the same spots, but “Holokai” had left. More tomorrow
