Team Billand headed over to a westside location and upon arrival they found two seals in the water. There were also a bunch of snorklers along with the two seals. The seals went into a westerly direction. They decided to follow in that direction as well and luckily they saw the two critters trying to land and then heading out again. But this time they got the ID's by tag shots. It's great to welcome back RN14 Kalani and his natural bleach mark on right side of his belly confirmed it. The other little one was RH92 easy ID buy the scar on her head.
Team Billand continued on their search and their next stop brought them another two critters. Kekoa Alii RK72 and RIP RR70 were hanging out and they found RIP in the water hole (Benny's Playboy Pond - and it just so happens Barbara dug up the photo that is responsible for the name). Kekoa was just to the left of RIP. Both stayed together all day despite the huge waves covering much of the area.
It was hot out there today, but it was worth the wait as another seal in heading in. Team Billand could see it was Ka'ale RH32 heading for the mid rocks. Ka'ale was attempting to come up but Kekoa wouldn't allow him up the rocks. They had a few words and snorts, Ka'ale was persistent and barked back, Kekoa lunged at him and Ka'ale stood down. That's when RIP came to Ka'ale's rescue and tried to run interference but Kekoa wasn't having it.
Marilyn found the beautiful RK96 Kaiwi at Kokee flats today. She stayed with her for about 30 minutes noting that she is looking very healthy. Kaiwi was ID'd by her small natural bleach on her forehead. female belly and her K96/97 tags.
