11/23/2018 Monk Seal Dailies (part 3) Yesterdays' News

I received two emails about sighting yesterday that are for sure worth sharing.  Thank you Justin T. and thank you Ken T.

Marilyn forwarded Ken's sighting from yesterday. Ken had a great day first he found N58 Luana at 10 minute beach doing a Ka'ena hike. Ken's next find was little K89 Puna at the beach near the parking lot. He had just hauled out and was getting into sleep mode.
Then last but not least on northshore beach he came across J58 Kaimana. So good to hear about this little girl.

Justin T. sent an email about his Thanksgiving hike yesterday from the Waianae side to Ka'ena Point.
He spotted L42 Leia in the cove on the Waianae side around noontime, but she was gone on their way out at 4:30.
There were two seals at "Queens Pool" tidepools before the blowhole. One was a male about 60% into his molt and had a tag that he was unable to read. The other was also a male but no tags were visible. They were both there when he arrived and also on the way out.
Last seal was a female without tags at Ka'ena Point hauled out on some reefs by the main pool. Justin compared his notes with Lesley's post from Thanksgiving and thinks this female may be R353.
Justin had called the seals into the hotline yesterday and emails them his details.
