Team Billand found Ka'ale at the Outfall early this morning. They were at the site talking with the fishermen when they finally spotted two seal foraging off the left jetty. Initially could not make an ID due to the distance. After some time they finally see RH32 coming into the outfall. He was foraging but they never got a chance to see what he was eating. Ka'ale headed out to the left of the jetty.
Team Billand did all their regular stops and came up empty. Ka'ena West was closed due to the big surf. It was afternoon when they went back to a westside beach for a re-check and found three seals.
Ka'ale RH32 to the right and in total snooze mode never changed position.
Kekoa Alii RK72 was in the mid rocks, his molt continues slowly and he's looking chubby.
Then to the right was Kalani RN14 resting on his rocks, cue ball bleach mark showing faintly and tag was visible. He's fully molted and looks a little slimmer.
The waves were rising so they decided to call it a day.
Melody had the good fortune to spend some time with Rocky RH58. Since the surf was sooo high on the west side Melody was hoping there would be some seals coming to a nearby beach. Well thank you Rocky for making that happen.
