Today Team Billand found PvKauai PW02 & Kekoa Alii RK72 at Maili both were already up on rocks, snoozing. They also spotted a seal foraging off shore and initially unable to make an ID. The seal came in and landed on high rocks when they were able to ID RIP RR70. He remained there all day.
Next two critters to haul out RN14 and Ka'ale RH32. Just as they came in two people arrived to throw net into the ponds and Team Billand was able to inform them of the seals. Although they REALLY wanted to throw and catch the Aholehole they moved on. Ka'ale landed first on lower rocks and RN14 hauled up next to RW02. A few grumbles back and forth and then all settled for a long nap.
Team Billand's final find of the day was Pohaku R028. She was up on the shore resting and everyone respectful while they were there. Pohaku is looking great, gained more weight and resting peacefully.
Team Tammy and Dave went out today and just when they thought
they had been skunked, they found Holokai G40 at Hidden Beach. Tammy took Dave home and decided to go for a drive. That's a lot of miles today :-) Well good thing she did, since she found RI37 Ipo hanging out in Hauula.
Posse Pal Vicki also visited with Ipo earlier today. Vicki did check out a few other spots and came up empty.
Gayle reported one critter today on Rabbit Island. Along with this critter a surfer decided to hang out for a bit. He was not there very long before Gayle had a chance to call it into the DLNR.
Gayle checked out Lanai Lookout and got an ID. Very good chances the seal yesterday was the same, RW22 Kolohe.
And finally Gayle found Right Spot R016 at Sandy Beach, she was a late haul out. Gayle left her at 18:20.
