Team T&D (Tammy and Dave) hiked out to Ka'ena Point. Their first find was R353 at back beach. She has a couple of new cookie cutter shark bites, one is healing nicely. The other is healing but is quite large. It will be amazing to see this one heal up.
Team T&D's next find was Squinty R330. He was in the main pool and was pretty still only with his back showing for the longest time. He finally flipped over and showed off his bleach mark on his chest. Tammy noted while out at the point they also saw lots of whales, a pod of spinner dolphins and this albatross with the biggest nest.
Team Billand had a busy day finding a total of 9 seals today! That is a really good seal day!
The first find of the day was R4DJ, he was way up in the rocks in the morning. Their afternoon check he was still there, they noted he had barfed there was spew near his mouth.
Next they found both RN14 and RIP RR70, they were both resting on the lower rocks and remained next to each other for the day. The party was just getting started, Ka'ale RH32 hauled up on the lower rocks with RW02 Pv Kauai. And if that wasn't enough then there was Kekoa RK72 hanging out with rest of the boys.
Team Billand headed out to Nanakuli and saw a seal on the beach with lots of people around. They were able to identify RE74 Benny.
While checking sites along the coast the spotted a seal off toward Electric Beach. When they got to the site they identified RL12 Aukai. There were folks around and a drone hovering above. The hotline was called and informed. Aukai is looking very big and beautiful!
The last find for Team Billand was RL42 at Makua Cliffs. She was alone tofay, no one bothering her. She is also looking very big and beautiful. Okay I got to say TEAM BILLAND ya done good !!!
Posse pal Gayle spotted two seal on Rabbit Island this morning, she also spent the day with Buster V08 at Sandy Beach. He is about 20-25% into his molt. She left him at 18:00 and he was snuggled up in the naupaka. Gayle relayed a story of always wanting to see a bird land on a seal. Well today was that day, she saw not one but TWO pigeons land on Buster while he was sleeping. He woke up and seemed to be more angry than surprised since he tried to snap at them. Unfortunately this all happened so fast she was unable to get any photos. Thank you Gayle for sharing.... I can only imagine.
