At 7:30 am Team Billand arrived at Plains where they saw a seal by the cabins. They ID'd Pohaku RO28 snoozing on shore. A zone was put up and they notified the hotline. They left in search for other seals.
Team Billand spotted a large ship off Kahe Point. The Global Sententil from Maryland (they're really far away from home). Then Team Billand checked out Maili and first found RN14 on lower rocks alone and resting. He kept moving and looking and sure enough here comes Kekoa RK72. He was resting not moving much, making it difficult at first for Team Billand to get a look at his tag.
Next up they spotted Kaale RH32 off shore with another seal. Kaale would eventually haul out just to the left of RN14. He started his usual antics of head butting RN14, who in turn took it nicely. The both of them would settle for the day.
Prior to Kaale hauling out Team Billand spent hours watching two seal foraging, playing and fighting. A good time was had by all, the seals and the spectators. Volunteer Melina arrived and Team Billand shared their information on the sightings. They came into the cove and Team Billand got both IDs RW02 PVKauai and Kaale RH32. After a few hours RW02 landed high rocks to the right. All four seals remained during their afternoon check.
Team Billand also stopped by Makua Cliffs and spotted RL42 alone on the rocks asleep. Unfortunately it probably didn't last since so many people jump off the rocks there. Upon searching further they found Lei Ola RH48. She still sporting her lip piercing, but other than that she is looking pretty healthy.
Posse Pal Gayle reported Right Spot R016 in the middle of busy Sandy Beach. Volunteers Gina and Bev were out there today looking after her. When Gayle returned at 17:15 Right Spot was gone. Gayle got a call from Kathy S mentioning a seal at Lanai Lookout. Gayle headed over and happy to find Kolohe RW22 sleeping on the flats.
Posse Pal Vicki was on the North Shore today and had two finds. She found RG40 Holokai who was being very cute today with his seal poses. Vicki also spotted RI37 Ipo at Hauula. ( based on some social media sightings it sounds like her Momma R5AY was also in the area).
