Team Billand found only one seal today out at Ka'ena Point, for them that is an extremely s-l-o-w day. They did see albatross, some seal spew and high surf to keep their day interesting. They spotted R353 hidden by a tree log snoozing alone. On the way back they rechecked and she had moved to Back Beach, got wet and hauled up again to rest.
Gayle spotted only two critters on Rabbit Island today. No identification possible but at least we know they are there.
Being such a beautiful day, Lesley headed out to the point with Jaime. There was a lot of weekend garbage and sea debris they picked up. By the end of the day they filled a truck load. In the seal world they first spotted RN58 Luana at 10 Min Beach. Their next fins was Ka'ena RO40 & Holokai RG40 at Hidden Beach and finally out at the point they found R353 at Back Beach.
Albatross were hunkered down in their nest everywhere, the count this week was 91 nests!
As Lesley was coming down the hill to her house she spotted a seal at Camp Erdman Point. Lesley ID'd R330 Squinty at RW02s favorite haul out spot.
